Festival Koolitants (The School Dance Festival) is Estonia's largest dance festival of all time, which brings together thousands of young dancers from all over Estonia every year with new original dances and productions.

Our greatest desire is to highlight the dance education of children and young people and to focus on special artistic moments. Every year, a large dance community from all over Estonia gathers to share the joy of dancing, creativity and to talk and dance about the topics that concern us all.

Koolitants dance days take place every winter and spring in three stages, starting with the county dance days, followed by the regional dance days, and in the very last stage there is a big final concert. The School Dance Festival dance days started already in 1994.

Koolitantsu Kompanii (Estonian Youth Dance Company) is an Estonian youth dance company (under The School Dance Festival) that brings together talented young dancers who are studying in different dance schools. The company offers the opportunity to learn about the profession of a dance artist under the guidance of recognized and talented choreographers. The first Koolitantsu Kompanii production premiered in 2015, and so far twelve dance productions have been created both in theater halls and on Rakvere Vallimäe (rampart), as well as a dance film. Estonian choreographers who have directed Koolitantsu Kompanii: Maarja Pruuli, Kadi Aare, Ruslan Stepanov, Argo Liik, Olga Privis, Kaja Lindal, Eliisa Sirelpuu, etc.

Just Film x Koolitants is a festival of young dance films held in cooperation between the Dark Nights Film Festival and the Koolitants Festival. Films featuring young dancers and created by the dancers themselves or well-known choreographers will be shown. Inspirational and dance films are invited to the festival, which cannot be seen anywhere else. Young people's dance films will hit the big screen starting in 2021.

Every year Koolitants brings together a large and inspiring group of friends from all over Estonia. It is a community united by the greatest joy of dance. The joy through which the told stories touch us, involve us and ignite us with positive energy.
