Eirik Dreyer Sellevoll “Kaasaegne jazz”

Eiriku eesmärgiks on töötoas inspireerida tantsijaid ja tantsuloojaid kombineerima kaasaegse jazzi tehnikat igaühe omanäolise liikumiskeelega ning sealjuures osata kasutada ka tänapäevaseid tänavatantsu elemente. Töötatakse kaasaegse jazzi tehnikatega ning töötoa teises osas improvisatsiooniga, et aidata osalejatel saada rohkem teadmisi oma liikumismustritest ning oma originaalset liikumise sõnavara laiendada. Uuritakse koreograafia esitamist: kuidas saab koreograafia tantsijale loomuomaseks ning kuidas soovitud emotsiooni publikuni viia? Fookuses on tantsija kui isiksus, eesmärgiks rakendada igapäevaelu tunnetust läbi koreograafia, et selles saaks säilida äratuntav ehedus.
Eirik: “Lõpetasin 2016. aastal programmi Liverpooli Kaasaegse Etenduskunsti Kooli ning peale seda olen seotud olnud kolme tantsukompaniiga: Ashton Dance Collective, ROOTS (Lukas McFarlane) ja House of Jazz London. Läbi nende kogemuste olen saanud võimaluse töötada ja esineda Inglismaa suurimatel lavadel – Olympia Londonis, ExCel Londonis, The O2 Forumis, The Echo Arenas Liverpoolis and Birminghami NEC’is erinevatel etendusetel ja sündmustel. 2017. aasta juulis viibisin Los Angeleses koos “UnTitled by Lukas McFarlane” tantsukompaniiga ning seal osalesime ühes USA suurimas koreograafia võistluses A.C.E Awardsidel, kus saavutasime teise koha. Samuti on mul olnud võimalus oma karjääri jooksul töötada ka näiteks Backstreet Boysi, BBC’i, Strictly Come Dancing ja Itaalia rokkbändiga Lacuna Coil. Oma koduriigis Norras on mul olnud võimalus osaleda lugematul hulgal erinevates tele- ja kinoreklaamides. Olen seni Inglismaal ja Norras lavastanud kolm täispikka tantsulavatust ja hetkel olen ka üks pealavastajatest Liverpoolis, oma endises koolis. Hetkel on mul käsil tantsulavastuse SOPHIE planeerimine koostöös Ashton Dance Collective’ga.”

Eirik Dreyer Sellevoll “Contemporary jazz”
6th and 7th October 2018 at 10am-4:30pm
Eirik’s dance style draws inspiration from different contemporary styles – with influences of jazz and hip hop. Together there’s a slight commercial feel to the style. He often works with improvisation to help the dancer gain a bigger knowledge of their own motion pattern, for them to widen their own vocabulary. While working in class, or choreographing, Eirik aspires to try to work with the dancer so that he or she can apply, or work on applying themselves to the choreography as much as possible. It keeps the choreography feel more real for the dancer, and the emotion he or she projects can read as relatable for an audience. Overall his main focus for this workshop is to help the participants figure out who they are as a dancer. And how to apply real life experiences on to a piece of choreography to make it more real.
Eirik: “I graduated from Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts in 2016 and since then I’ve joined three dance companies; Ashton Dance Collective, ROOTS by Lukas McFarlane and House of Jazz London. Through these companies I’ve gotten opportunities working and performing in big venues such as Olympia London, ExCel London, The O2 Forum, The Echo Arena in Liverpool and NEC in Birmingham, working on a production or performing pieces. In July 2017 I travelled to Los Angeles with UnTitled by Lukas McFarlane to compete in one of the biggest choreography competitions in America: The A.C.E Awards held in Long Beach Convention Centre, here we placed 2nd out of 17 pieces. I’ve worked with Backstreet Boys, BBC, Strictly Come Dancing and the Italian rock band Lacuna Coil. In Norway, my country of origin, I’ve danced and starred in several TV and cinema adverts. I’ve choreographed three full length dance shows, in Norway and England. And I am one of the main choreographers at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts for their Foundation Certificate and 1st year dance shows. At the moment I am currently working on a full length show called SOPHIE with Ashton Dance Collective.”
