Töötoa esimeses pooles alustame süva-füüsilise soojendusega, mis põhineb David Zambrano poolt arendatud Flying Low tehnikal, ent mis on muundunud minu kunstilisest praktikast lähtuvalt pehmemaks ja ruumi mõistes keerukamaks. Algupäraselt tegeleb Flying Low tehnika tantsija ja põranda vahelise suhtega: õpitakse ja tantsitakse lihtsaid liikumiskombinatsioone, vabastades samaaegselt energiat kõikidesse keha ja ruumi suundadesse ning jõudes kehakeskme aktiveerimiseni.
Töötoa teises osas sukeldume minu kunstipraktikasse ja pehmetesse koreograafilistesse töödesse. Ma arutleme mõistete üle nagu afekt ja efekt, oleviku nihutamine ajas, looklev mitmetähenduslikkus, subjekt- ja objektkeha jne. Me mõtestame lahti ja töötame minu kahe viimase loometöö – FM [featuring mortuum] – 2016 aja UM [unimal] meetoditega. Mõlemad tööd on füüsiliselt nõudlikud, vaadeldes vastuhakku ja vastupanu kui tantsu olulist osa ning tegelevad teatri rolliga ühiskonnas, kus olulisel kohal on teemad nagu vägivald, kordus, autoriteet, intiimsus, püsivus ja nõudlikkus.
Võtame omaks erinevad vaatepunktid ning laseme loome-ja etendamisprotsessil muunduda erinevatel tasanditel – olgu selleks pilk/kohalolu, keha, hingamine – rakendades liikumist, teksti, füüsilist tegevust ja/või laulmist.
Cristina Planas Leitão on sündinud 1983. aastal Portos. Tal on tantsu ja etenduskunsti bakalaureusekraad (2006) ArtEZ’ist, Arnhemi Kunstikõrgkoolist (Hogeschool voor de Kunsten). 2007.-2012. aastani on ta teinud koostööd itaalia-hollandi koreograafi Gabriella Maiorinoga ning Dansmakers Amsterdamiga (NL), osaledes kõigis lavastustes etendaja või repetiitorina. Sellest ajast saati on ta teinud etendajana koostööd ka järgnevate kunstnikega: Isabelle Schad (DE); Flávio Rodrigues / BCN (PT): Vloeistof (NL); Catarina Miranda (PT) ning hetkel on ta ringreisil Marco da Silva Ferreira (PT) lavastusega “Brother”. Proovide assistendina on ta töötanud Hofesh Shechteriga (2012-2014) ning Gregory Maqomaga (2015, Companhia Instável). 2015. aastal valiti ta ühe kunstnikuna osalema projektis “The Porto Sessions”, mille lõi ja arendas Meg Stuart/ Damaged Goods ning Mezzannine Portos. 2011. aastal algatas ta Portos “desNORTE” (2011-2017) ning lõi projekti “Conquering the studio: a time for research” BCN ning Companhia Instávelile (PT).
Alates 2016. aastast teeb ta koostööd Porto Munitsipaalteatriga. Algselt töötas ta publiku kaasamise osas, ent 2018/19 hooajal on ta antud teatris toimuva Festival DDD tegevjuht.
2010. aastal oli ta üks 50-est David Zambrano poolt valitud kunstnikust, kes osales kursusel 50 days of Flying Low and Passing Through in Costa Rica, mille tulemusel on ta üks sertifikeeritud õpetajatest. Alates sellest ajast on ta mõlemaid tehnikaid õpetanud rahvusvaheliste töötubade raames.
Cristina põhifookus on lavastamisel. Ta on loonud ja tuuritanud koostöös Jasmina Krizaj’ga : “The very delicious piece” ja “The Very Boring Piece”. Tema loomingusse kuuluvad ka kaks soolotööd: “FM [featuring mortuum]” ja “UM [unimal]”.
Ta looming on olnud esitluses mitmetes rahvusvahelistes teatrites ja festivalidel nagu Hellerau – Europäisches Zentrum der Künsten, Dresden (DE), The Place, London (UK); Théâtre de la Ville (FR); Triskelion Arts NY (USA); I like to watch Too, Julidans Festival Amsterdam (NL); Malta Festival, Poznan (POL); Plesni Teater Ljubljana (SI); Stara Mestna Elektrarna, Ljubljana (SI); Maribor 2012 European Capital of Culture (SI); No_Body Festival (CY); Teatro Municipal do Porto (PT); Culturgest, Lisboa (PT); Teatro Aveirense (T); GUIdance Festival, Guimarães (PT); Centro Cultural de Belém, Lisboa (PT); Festival Cumplicidades, Lisboa (PT); Centro de Arte de Ovar; Cine-Teatro Louletanto, Loulé (PT); Teatro Municipal de Faro (PT) jpt.

In this workshop we will start with a deep physical warm-up based on the Flying Low technique by David Zambrano adapted to my own artistic vision, very often described as a softer and spatially complex approach. The original technique focuses on the dancers relationship with the floor by using simple movement sequences and by practicing speed and the release of energy throughout the body in order to activate the centre.
Afterwards we will go into the basis of my artistic practice and soft-choreographic work and we will be approaching concepts such as affect and effect, presence shifting through time, the meanders of ambiguity, a subject and an object body, etc.
We will approach the creation method of the last two pieces FM [featuring mortuum] – 2016 and UM [unimal] – 2018, both physically demanding, dealing with resistance in dance and the role of theatre in society, where themes such as violence, repetition, authority, intimacy, permanence and insistency play an important role. We will embrace multiple points of view, informing the creation and transformation of performative material on different levels of attention – the gaze/ presence, the body, the breath by means such as movement, text, physical action or song..
Cristina Planas Leitão, Porto (PT), 1983. Holds a BA in Dance Performance from ArtEZ – Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, Arnhem (NL), 2006. From 2007 to 2012 collaborated with Italian-Dutch based choreographer Gabriella Maiorino and Dansmakers Amsterdam (NL) participating in all her pieces as a performer or rehearsal director. Since then as collaborated as a performer for Isabelle Schad (DE); Flávio Rodrigues / BCN (PT): Vloeistof (NL); Catarina Miranda (PT) and is currently touring in Marco da Silva Ferreira’s (PT) piece Brother. As rehearsal director she has worked for Hofesh Shechter (2012-2014) and Gregory Maqoma (2015) for Companhia Instável. In 2015, she was one of the selected artists to participate in The Porto Sessions – a project drawn and developed by Meg Stuart/ Damaged Goods and Mezzannine in Porto. In 2011, in Porto, initiated “desNORTE” (2011-2017) and created the project Conquering the studio: a time for research for BCN and Companhia Instável (PT).
